Day 1: Kampala/Entebbe International Airport – Visit to Nyero Rock Paintings – Drive to Sipi Falls
Upon your arrival at Entebbe International Airport or your hotel in Kampala, you will be welcomed by our knowledgeable driver-guide from Wild Terrain Africa. Your guide will provide you with an overview of your exciting 3-Day Sipi Falls Hike and Jinja Whitewater Rafting Uganda Safari. After the briefing, we will commence our journey to Eastern Uganda, where we will explore Sipi Falls, Nyero rock paintings, and experience thrilling whitewater rafting in Jinja.
En route to Sipi Falls, we will make a stop at Sezibwa Falls, known for its spiritual significance and captivating natural beauty. Legend has it that Sezibwa Falls were born from a woman, and they hold spiritual powers that attract visitors seeking blessings from ancestors. The falls are also of great importance to the Buganda Kingdom. After enjoying Sezibwa Falls, we will proceed through picturesque landscapes adorned with tea and sugarcane plantations. We’ll pass by Jinja city before continuing our journey to Nyero rock paintings.
Nyero rock paintings, situated in the small village of Nyero, feature primitive yet beautiful artworks on the inner surfaces of three-tiered rock shelters. These remarkable paintings are believed to be the creation of the Batwa, a pygmy tribe that lived in the area over 750 years ago during the Stone Age era. UNESCO recognizes these paintings as a significant historical and cultural heritage site. After exploring Nyero rock paintings, we will drive to Sipi Falls in Kapchorwa district, where you will check in at your chosen lodge for relaxation, dinner, and an overnight stay.

Day 2: Sipi Falls – Morning Hike to Explore the Falls – Travel to Jinja City – Visit the Source of the River Nile
After savoring a delicious breakfast, we will depart from your lodge and embark on a morning hike to witness the beauty of Sipi Falls. Sipi Falls consists of three stunning waterfalls with heights of 100 meters, 85 meters, and 75 meters, each offering captivating views of the lowland plains and Mount Elgon. The hike to these falls, while physically demanding, is incredibly rewarding, offering moments of tranquility and spectacular sunrise vistas.
Following the hike, we will return to your lodge to check out. Our journey will then take us to Jinja City, known for its rich history and as the source of the River Nile. En route, we will pause in Mbale city for lunch. Upon arriving in Jinja, you will check in at your selected hotel to relax and enjoy some refreshments.
In the afternoon, we will explore the source of the River Nile, the world’s longest river. You will embark on a boat cruise from the shores to the exact point where the Nile River separates from Lake Victoria. This unique experience provides insight into the magnificent natural forces that shape our world. If time allows, we may also visit Samuka Island, known for its significance as a breeding ground for various bird species found around Lake Victoria. After an insightful day, we will return to your hotel in Jinja for dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 3: Jinja City – Full Day Whitewater Rafting – Return to Entebbe International Airport / Kampala
Begin your day with a hearty breakfast at the hotel. After breakfast, we will collect your luggage and transfer you to the designated meeting point for a full day of exhilarating whitewater rafting on the iconic River Nile. Before embarking on this adventure, you will receive a safety briefing on rafting standards and procedures.
With life jackets and helmets securely fastened, you will navigate the challenging rapids of the River Nile, providing an adrenaline rush like no other. The River Nile offers some of the most thrilling whitewater rafting experiences in Africa, featuring high-grade rapids of levels 4 and 5.
We will take a break for lunch during the day’s activities before continuing with the rafting adventure. After an exciting day on the river, we will conclude our safari by departing from Jinja and driving to Entebbe International Airport for your departure flight. Alternatively, we can drop you off at any hotel in Kampala or your residence, marking the end of your 3-Day Sipi Falls Hike and Jinja Whitewater Rafting Uganda Safari.
