Day 1: Pickup from Entebbe Airport – Transfer to Kampala City
Upon your arrival at Entebbe International Airport, our company representative and your English-speaking driver-guide will warmly welcome you. They will then escort you to Kampala City, where you will check in at your selected hotel. After settling in, you’ll receive a briefing about your upcoming adventure. If time permits, we recommend an optional Kampala evening city tour to explore historical sites such as Kabaka’s palace, Uganda National Museum, Namugongo martyr’s shrines, and Kasubi tombs, a UNESCO-recognized site.

Day 2: Leave Kampala City – Transfer to Lake Mburo National Park – Evening & Night Game Drives
After an early breakfast, meet your safari driver-guide in the hotel lobby. Your journey begins with a scenic drive to Lake Mburo National Park, crossing the Equator along the way. You’ll stop at the Kayabwe Equator crossing point for a fascinating water experiment and photo opportunity. Continue your drive to Lake Mburo National Park, where you’ll check in at your chosen lodge for lunch. In the afternoon, embark on an exciting game drive to spot various animals, including elands, warthogs, buffaloes, zebras, waterbucks, and giraffes. Later in the evening, enjoy a thrilling night game drive to seek out nocturnal wildlife such as bush pigs, genet cats, white-tailed mongooses, leopards, and spotted hyenas.

Day 3: Lake Mburo National Park – Morning Horseback Riding – Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park
Start your day with breakfast and then set out for an exhilarating horseback riding safari, a unique way to explore Lake Mburo National Park. During this 2-hour nature walk on horses, you’ll get up close to the park’s inhabitants, capturing unforgettable moments and photographs. Lake Mburo National Park is the only place in Uganda where you can enjoy this incredible activity. Return to the lodge for a second breakfast, and then begin your road trip to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park, the ultimate destination for mountain gorilla tracking. Bwindi is home to half of the world’s remaining mountain gorillas. Arrive at your reserved lodge in the evening, where you can relax, enjoy dinner, and spend the night.

Day 4: Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park – Morning Mountain Gorilla Tracking – Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park
After an early breakfast, head to the park’s headquarters for a morning briefing on the dos and don’ts of mountain gorilla tracking. Then, embark on the long-awaited adventure of tracking the mountain gorillas. The duration of the trek can vary from 2 to 8 hours, depending on the gorilla family’s location. During the trek, you may also encounter other primates and mammals, such as chimpanzees, black and white colobus monkeys, vervet monkeys, and more. Upon finding the mountain gorillas, you’ll have a full hour to observe, photograph, and marvel at these remarkable creatures. After the trek, return to the park headquarters to receive your tracking certificate, enjoy refreshments, have lunch, and proceed to Queen Elizabeth National Park. In the evening, engage in an exciting game drive in the Ishasha sector, known for its tree-climbing lions. Later, continue your drive to check in at your selected lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 5: Queen Elizabeth National Park – Early Morning Game Drive – Afternoon Boat Cruise – Evening Game Drive
Begin your day with coffee and head to the park for an early morning game drive in the Kasenyi track area. Here, you can spot a variety of wildlife, including Cape buffaloes, elephants, warthogs, waterbucks, Uganda kob, lions, hyenas, and numerous bird species. After the game drive, return to the lodge for relaxation, lunch, and then embark on an adventurous boat safari along the renowned Kazinga Channel. This channel is famous for hosting the highest concentration of hippopotamuses in Africa, as well as a multitude of Nile crocodiles. It’s a paradise for bird enthusiasts, with hundreds of bird species along the shores. Additionally, you may observe elephants, buffaloes, and antelopes quenching their thirst and swimming. After the boat safari, take a short break to relax before setting off on an evening game drive, with a focus on spotting big predators such as lions, leopards, spotted hyenas, and more. Enjoy dinner and an overnight stay at your lodge.

Day 6: Queen Elizabeth National Park – Morning Chimpanzee Tracking – Return to Entebbe International Airport / Entebbe Town
Early in the morning, savor your breakfast and then drive to the Kalinzu Forest Reserve for a half-day guided chimpanzee tracking walk. This forest is home to about 414 species of trees and shrubs, as well as 378 bird species, including the Great Blue Turaco, Black and White Casquet, Cuckoos, Sunbirds, and 6 species of primates, including chimpanzees. After this adventurous chimpanzee tracking experience, return to your lodge to relax, have lunch, and prepare for your return to Entebbe International Airport to conclude your 6-Day Gorilla Tracking & Wildlife Sighting Tour. Alternatively, you may opt to spend an additional night in Entebbe.
